5 reasons to bring your A-GAME

Posted on February 14, 2020 inBeauty

If your skin feels dry and dehydrated, you want to use A-Game. Versatile and brimming with wonderful skin treats, it will soon become your instant active lifestyle companion. But lets start with a quick lesson on dry vs. dehydrated skin.

Dry and dehydrated skin share many of the same signs and symptoms but are different. 4 of the most common signs are:

  1. Itchy and flaking skin
  2. A dull and tired appearance
  3. Increased sensitivity
  4. Fine lines and wrinkles

Dry skin (a skin type) is genetic. You don’t produce enough oils naturally, as a result, skin can appear dull and lacking in lustre. Adding oils to your skin care routine will help improve dryness.

Dehydrated skin (a skin condition) is caused by a number of external factors (weather, diet and lifestyle choices – alcohol, caffeine, sleep etc.). They deplete your skin’s moisture content, resulting in a less supple appearance. Even oily skin can be dehydrated. The good news is that it is temporary and can be relieved with a combination of topical treatments and lifestyle changes.

And here is where A-Game comes into it’s own and the reason why it wins so many fans. And because we just don’t have enough space on our packaging, we have compiled this list to remind you of some of the benefits you get from your A-Game.

1. IT’S GREAT FOR DRY AND DEHYDRATED SKIN

In development, one non-negotiable for A-GAME was that in order to add value on-the-go, it must address each of those 4 side effects of dry and dehydrated skin as QUICKLY possible. Especially restoring bounce and radiance and without that greasy feeling balms typically have. It’s why we worked relentlessly with our genius chemists, and jammed in so many super-potent, scientifically proven ingredients. Many, many versions later we had our hit! If you don’t believe us, A-Game was Voted by the Independent as their “best buy” for this reason in the company of some serious Indie heavy hitters!

2. It’s for all skin-types including sensitive skin

As we already mentioned, sensitivity is one of the biggest tell-tale signs of dehydrated skin. When your skin’s moisture barrier is disrupted, it cannot properly protect itself from external stressors. As a result, irritants like bacteria and pollution can penetrate its outermost layer, worsening symptoms like redness, itchiness and irritation.

Teeming with anti-oxidants, omegas and hyaluronic acid, A-Game maximizes hydration by preserving and replenishing moisture, it also protects skin against the drying effects of environmental stressors. Ingredients like rose and marula calm and soothe stressed skin.

We already established that even oily skin can get dehydrated. Sebum production actually increases because the body tries to compensate, further exacerbating the problem. By only using non-comedogenic oils (i.e they don’t clog pores), and including anti-bacterial oils (that keep acne causing bacteria away) – we have made sure oily dehydrated skin can benefit from using A-Game.

3. It’s great at fading scars and evening out complexion

Why? Kahai Oil.

Kahai is a wonder oil gently extracted from the nuts of a Colombian Amazonian “Cacay” tree

It is our potent restorative and repair agent in A-Game. It’s great at reducing fine lines, wrinkles, and works wonders at evening out skin tone, fading sun damage spots, hyper pigmentation and scarring.

How? It’s rich in Vitamin A and E. Vitamin A is a natural retinol helps stimulate cell repair and regeneration. Vitamin E is a potent anti-oxidant that protects the skin against radical damage (sun and environmental pollution, both inescapable with City living). Radical damage is responsible for skin damage and pre-mature ageing. See this post to understand how UV affects the skin.

4. You can use it as a pre-cleanser

Have you heard of oil cleansing? Marula and Moringa seed oils form the base and are both anti-bacterial. Making A-Game great for your oil cleansing – use it to lift oil, dirt and make-up. Here’s how to oil-cleanse:

To use, apply to your dry face. Use fingertips to gently massage into the skin for a minute or two to really remove the make-up, build-up and let all that goodness penetrate the skin. Finish up by removing with a warm wet towel or go straight in with your cleansing wash. Pair it with LBB’s Take Off-Touch Down cleansing cloths for an even deeper cleanse on-the-go.

5. It’s just so versatile and travel-friendly

We love A-Game for its versatility, it’s a face oil, moisturiser, intensive hydration treatment, oil cleanser, lip balm, cheekbone highlighter, cuticle oil and so much more. According to Nadine Baggot (Beauty Youtuber extraordinaire), it’s great for her exposed legs in heels. For Sarah, she loves it as a priming base for foundation. And as its a stick, it gets extra points for being handbag and carry-on ready with none of the fuss of liquids!

We love hearing the many ways our customers are enjoying their A-Game.

To conclude, we’ll leave you with one final tip…

A-Game will double up as massage oil for those tired and sore muscles. Especially after a full day of skiing, back in your hotel after an uncomfortable flight or even a long day hunched over your computer. It works even better when it is paired with the anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving majoram, lavender and eucalyptus essential oils found in LBB’s Flight Mode Mood Rescue Oil.
